Templates won't save

I recently downloaded the trial version of AutoCAD for Mac. I'm using it on my 2012 Macbook Pro and have a tutor to learn the program. She's trying to teach me how to make templates and the templates won't save. Is this a bug or is one unable to save templates on the trial version?

In the mean time are you saving it as a dwt format in your template folder?

Yes, I've been trying to save templates as .dwt files. I've tried both in
the template folder and on my desktop. I've searched my entire computer for
them and they don't appear anywhere.
