Tech Issues - layers not showing

It was a problem before then it resolved itself. I was gone for a few weeks and came back to work, now it's a problem again.

When i have my layer property open, it shows a blank. Any time i switch windows to my email or google then return back to AC, it brings up my layer from the previous 'window'  I have AC 2017 and the SP1 installed.

image attached: the background is chrome browser.

Any suggestions?

Hi @MaksSkuz27,

I am sorry this problem has returned.  It really looks like a display driver issue. Can you please provide a NFO file for me so I can see if there is an answer there?

If your data needs to be private or confidential, please email it directly to me at john.vellek@autodesk.com and please include a link to this thread in your email.

Please verify that your Windows is fully up-to-date.

Hi @MaksSkuz27,

Thanks for the NFO file in email.

Your graphics driver should be updated.  Please try this driver from Nvidia.

I also see in your Error reporting section of the NFO that WsCommCNtr4.exe anda ACAD.exe  are causing faults.  This could be an indication that Windows privileges are insufficient or that you might have a hardware problem. I am leaning to the latter because of the image you showed.  Here is an article that shows how to shut down the WSCommcntr and to set permissions on the two files.

John,

I installed the driver and adjusted the 'run as admin' on the 2 applications. It had a moment of where it actually showed up. Rebooting the application, it disappeared. I will do some other tests such as rebooting the computer system. If this still remains to be a problem, i will ask my ITG to take a look to ensure nothing is jarred loose inside and try again tomorrow (or whenever). I will update you on this issue. I appreciate your assistance on this.

Hi @MaksSkuz27

It does look better but I think this is a hardware issue.  Let me know what your IT group says.

If you have more then one Monitor, please try if the Problem is the same on the other one.
Don't ask why, it is only a Test.

Hi @MaksSkuz27,

Thanks for the update. I am sorry that your IT has not yet had time to look into this for you.  As a test, can you try plugging in a different monitor with a different cable to see if the display is improved?

it shouldn't be the monitors. I have dual monitors. One of them is DELL UP2414Q which is my main screen and the other being DELL U3415W, as my secondary/email/research monitor.

in the past, restarting AutoCAD usually resolve the issue. Now it doesn't.

I will contact IT again, perhaps my office admin person may have a better contact than i.

Hi,

if you don't want to use the classic manager all the time and only when the palette version doesn't want to load properly you can type CLASSICLAYER to access it.

You may check the system requirments for your hardware while you are waiting for your IT's response.
