strong lag when I move my mouse over a block

Ever since I got the new company machine and put the original software on it, when I put my mouse on a block it thinks hard, as if it can't process it all at once.

If the speed in the video clip accurately reflects what's happening, that doesn't look like so serious a lag, given the complexity of the Block.  But however you feel about it, that's called "selection preview," and you can control whether it happens at all, with settings in this area:
