Status Bar Units button does not behave like other buttons

This has been like this since at least ver. 2018.

When you have the "Units" button visible on the status bar it does not behave like the other status bar buttons.

All the other SB buttons with dropdown arrows you can left mouse click on the word or the arrow to get the list to expand. The "Units" button will NOT expand if you left click on the word, you MUST left click the tiny down arrow.

Now, you might suggest that I right click on the "Units" words, which does indeed expand the list, but this DOES NOT work on any of the other SB buttons with drop downs.

Please make the "Units" Status Bar button behave like all the others.

Left mouse button works on the Units button same as it does for my zoom button, left click while holding left mouse button down, mouse over selection and release will select the command.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same button.

I don't have an option for a "Zoom" button on the Status Bar

I'm referring to the Status Bar buttons on the bottom of the Acad window (see attached capture).

That capture is from MEP 2018 but the behavior still exists in 2022.

oh, ya thought you meant button menu on toolbars

only thing I ever use on the status bar you talk about is the Annotation scale, I don't even see the button you talk about on mine

You would have to turn it on using the hamburger button on the far right of the SB (see attached).

OK, I see, you have to actually click the arrow to have it open up, and on the others you just click anywhere within the button and it opens

I am no help on that, I thought it would have more in the ICU, but I run into dead ends

How frequently do you really need access to that in a DWG file in a day? I'm curious, I've only glanced at it to quickly solve issues for others with "issues", can't say it ever came useful in production for anyone in our offices.

BTW no one here is Autodesk: we are all end users just like you. And any Autodesk staff that are in here are to ensure we all behave, or point to some URL no one else can find, not much else. It's been like that for 20+years now.

If you want to suggest changes to Autodesk you have to make an effort over here instead https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback
