Solview command

Hello, can someone please tell me me how to properly use solview in AutoCAD 2016?  It is not working the same way it did in the 2012 version or like any of the videos that I find on Youtube.  I type "Solview" and then select "UCS" then select "Named".  It then prompts to "Enter name of UCS to restore".  I try to type in "Front"(the view I am hoping for) and press Enter and then it just gives me the same "Enter name of UCS to restore" prompt again.

I have also tried typing "Solview" and then selecting "Ortho".  It then prompts to "Specify side of viewport to project".  I then click on the top side of the viewport and move my cursor upwards.  It then prompts "Specify view center" and I click where I want my top viewport to be but then it promts to select one of the options (?, Color, Ltype, LWeight, TRansparency, Freeze, Thaw, Reset, Newfrz, Vpvisdflt).... From here I do not know what to do to get more viewports.

Rather than use the ancient solx commands -

I recommend that you take a look at the viewbase (Base View) functionality.

Hi @Anonymous,

I just ran across your post and wanted to check to see if you have figured out how to use SOLVIEW in AutoCAD 2016 or if you have tried Viewbase instead.

Here is a current AKN Article that details the SOLVIEW command.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.
