Slice & Section v UCS

I'm used to using both the Slice and Section commands using the 3 point method which is the most usual for me.

The last day or two what ever 3 points I choose, the resulting action appears to be dictated by the UCS orientation.

I'm sure I hit a button somewhere that has altered the system but which one?

I could follow a little better with screen shots or the actual file.  I understand the action that is occurring but can't figure out if you changed something without looking at it.

Since you are using slice and section commands I will ask if you are aware of the newer "Base View" commands?

If you are working on solids I have to recommend the new cammands which do not employ Viewports at all.

Post back if you'd like me to point you toward the newer method.

You may have accidentally activated dynamic UCS. There is a button along the bottom that toggles it on and off. You can also type UCSDETECT and set it to 0 (zero) to turn it off.

Gentlemen.

Thank you for your help and advise, I really appreciate your help.

I used UCSDETECT and although it appeared to be set to zero, I over typed it with another zero and everything is now back to normal.

Many thanks.
