setting property

hi

i am new to autocad, pls help

i want to know how to set the property as picture number 1, currently is like picture number 2. that is a property of a line, i got from 2 diff files.  thank you

For Picture 1, draw a Polyline.

For Picture 2, draw a Line.

If currently a line, just use PEDIT to make it a Polyline:

i use DIST, but how come the result is diff for the same line as shown on the pic. the correct distance is 19.2221, also the elevation is not 0

0. Without your data, everyone have to guess only

1. You don't select the same point (see your osnap Icon), so that it is possible the problem (without your data, can't know that)

2. The main reason  will be different heights.
The DIST distance value refers to the distance between the points, not the projected distance on the view plane.

Consider using the FLATTEN command, or change the Z value to 0.

That usually happens when you have different "Start Z" or "End Z", as your sample shows:

ty, yes, i think this is the problem, how to change z value to 0. i already read the link, but not all z become 0 when i use a command as below

Alternative to change the Z value of objects to zero

Use the CHANGE command:

1. Type in the CHANGE command.
2. Type ALL to select all objects and then Enter.
3. Type P for Properties.
4. Type E for Elevation.
5. Type 0 and then a final Enter to end the command.

Same spot, NO it isn't.

Not the same Snap-Point. Just the same X and Y-position, but not the same Z-position.

As mentioned before, use the FLATTEN command (while on TOP view).

After using the FLATTEN command:
