Hi, isn't this a homework?

Read carefully instruction on how to create a cross section view from 3D objects. Also remember to read what is at command line during performing any command. It is very helpful. (Sorry I haven't open your's dwg, I can't at the moment.)

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Might I suggest that we look at this in steps? I suggest making the base piece first. I did this in a video using rectangles and then PressPull to get them to the correct thicknesses. I then used Union to make them a single solid. The next step is to construct cylinders, place them in the correct locations on the solid and then to Subtract.

Once you have the model built, I suggest that you switch to paperspace by clicking on a Layout Tab. Then you can use the Viewbase command to create the base view as well as the projected and section views.

Start by following the video and then let me know if you need additional assistance.

Hi,

I hope you haven't been too confused by the responses for 3D object creation?  Very good responses but maybe bigger than you are shooting for.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but this appears to be a 2D assignment whereby you must use concepts of projection to develop the appropriate section views.

One response suggested that this is an assignment so we should all be careful not to perform the work so here's my input without doing the work.

Cutting plane line A-A in the top view of your orthographic projection cuts horizontally through the entire width of the part (full section) and passes through two holes.  The left hole has a countersink at the top and the right hole is just a through hole that passes through a lower level of the part.

Cutting plane B-B cuts vertically through the same countersunk hole and then through the counterbored hole.

Cutting plane C-C cuts vertically through the small through hole and a larger through hole.

Lots of terms used there but a good study of print reading will help you with those and with the concepts of orthographic projection and section views (full, aligned, jogged, etc...).

I placed an image below that should help you visualize the sections that need completed.  I think your instructor wants you to add the necessary lines and hatches to complete each view.

Cheers, Blaine
