Removing Xref Text Styles

Hi,

I would like to remove xref text styles that comes in my Test Style window. They come from the xref line types that are loaded into my drawing. Bad thing is that the acad.lin file is provided by a customer and we cant change the line types. So long story short in there acad.lin they have included text styles in there line types which ultimately comes in the text styles, any way to get rid of them?

Please see attached, whats highlighted in blue is what I'm referring to.

Not an option unless you remove them from inside the source XREF first.

Yeah I was hoping there was another way. I hate to purge out layers and linetypes on those xref drawings.

Why don't you rename your XREFs in the XREF pallete in the top file only so the list drops to the bottom instead of being at the top? Something like x-0256-XMODEL-blah-blah-blah

There is no harm in doing this if they aren't being used. I strip down my XREFs of unused/unwanted stuff as much as possible.

I would have to change like 20 xref names....but that part doesn't bother me too much, but the main issue is with properties on and with that many text styles it pauses and jerks with selecting and moving text. Just an annoyance.

Adding an X- in front of every name already there should not take you more than a minute to do for 20 xrefs, and a lifetime of less aggravation is the bonus 🙂
