Random Copy displacement without selecting 2nd point

ACAD LT 2017 Hi. Sometimes after selecting an object to copy, copies are made without clicking the mouse for 2nd point of displacement. It seems as if I hover over an area or make abrupt mouse movement it places a copy without my input. Is there something I can turn off? Also, is there anything Icanread to help inform me of ACAD command changes since 2004 or 2008(versions I was previously familiar with) Thank You!

Autocad doesn't randomly decide to play copies. It sounds more like your mouse is going bad. It's an easy test. Just use another mouse for a day or two and see if it does the same behavior. There's no variable that controls random mouse button actions though.

As far as the changes from 2004 to 2017 I'm not sure there's any comprehensive guide. My suggestion is if you notice something that's different in 17 over 04 don't try and make 17 act like 04. Try and use it the way it works in 17 as it's most likely changed for the better. If you try to make everything in 17 work like 04 then you will constantly be fighting the software and it will continue with every new release you get as it will be closer to 17 than 04.  The forums are a good resource. As you find things that are different and have questions about how something works or what it is for just ask. Don't be afraid to ask what seems like a easy question as those are also the easiest ones to answer. 😃

I will switch mouses to check as you suggested but it certainly seems to be something within the software.I'll try and take better notes of when it or similar problems occur. Thanks for your response.

While you test... There is no fix or cure for"sometimes". Dig a little deeper and find if you can repeat it all the time on demand. Or at least see if you can spot a pattern or sequence of events/commands that triggers it.

So you would think. This is the beginning of my 3rd annual subscription and this problem is something I noticed shortly after the first but does not consistently happen. I was drawing for several hours today within the same file before it began to happen. Once it began it was fairly consistent. I have also experienced a problem within other commands when trying to pick points that should have been snapped to with current OSNAP settings but somehow miss the intended point .The aperture appears at the desired point  (SOMETIMES) and while I believe I have selected the point, I later discover the intended point was missed by some small fraction. My transition from 2004 to 2017 has been quite frustrating to say the least and my time spent creating drawings has increased quite a bit. For someone who has been using ACAD since it was DOS driven (R-11 or earlier) I am somewhat disappointed.
