problem with zoom

hi everybody,

on first, sorry for my english.

second this is my problem, when I zoom on one object, the cursor is jumping on this object. If i want to catch the midle of this object, it s not possible unless i unzoom a bit. More i get close to the object more is difficult to select it..... 

Is it somebody to help me????

I just want to precise that my comp is new and made to work with 3ds max so I dont think that it s problem of power

It sounds like your cursor is snapping to the Grid.  Try disabling the grid snap with the status bar toggle, or by changing SNAPMODE = 0 at the command line.
