Problem with custom buttons on toolbars displaying properly

I have migrated in a prior classic menu. Everything works fine, but the custom buttons image display as question clouds. If I un-check the toolbar via the right click pull down, then re-check the toolbar so that it will display again, the buttons then display the custom imagesproperly. I have tried editing the tool bar and saving, but when I restart AutoCad all the custom buttons revert back to question clouds till I turn the toolbars off and back on again. As this is frustrating hoping for help with resolving this issue.

From where (which AutoCAD version) did you migrate your settings?

Which version of AutoCAD do you currently use (please send us a screenshot from command _ABOUT)

Where are the bitmaps stored for these icons?

I last migrated this menu into AutoCAD 2016 from 2014

I'm currently trying to bring the menu from 2016 into 2019

I did a search for the icon bmp, even after editing one and saving and the search came up empty. As there is no save as in the button image editor, I have no idea where AutoCad is saving the edited images.

Those could simply mean your custom images did not migrate over (you need to do so manually) or those old buttons are looking for old images no longer included.

Are you actually migrating custom routines you cannot live without, or are you simply unaware you can recreate the classic workspace in AutoCAD 2016-17-18-19 in under a minute without migrating anything at all, and avoiding messing up the newer programs with old content.

Hi,

AutoCAD 2019 without update/service-pack had issues with bmp's for icons.

Please unload your custom menus, then install the Update 1.2, then start again with (partial-) loading the menu you had used in 2016

The images are stored in the *.CUIX file.
If you have a zip program, such as 7Z, open your *.CUIX as
an archive and view the list in the root directory. One can
delete the files in the CUIX however, one can only add
(without issues) via the browse button inside the CUI editor.

Because the buttons would display properly after I refreshed each toolbar, my solution was to then select the button after it was displaying properly and export it to AutoCAD's icon folder, then edit the button by importing the new image in the icon folder back into the button and saving the edit. I did this with each button and have not had any issue since.
