Import error when importing rhino 3dm file

Hi,

I usually work on autocad2018 for my job, but one of the personnel that supply me plans sent me a rhino file today.  I read a bit and it seems like I should be able to use the import command to import the drawing without too many problems, but I keep getting the error: "Import Failed, The specified File is invalid or unsupported".

How can I get to open it ?

Thanks !

Hi,

which file format did you get, Rhino can write a lot of different file-types.

If you upload the file we might try to convert it (depending on the file-type 😉 )

Hi,

I started command _IMPORT, set the file-type to *.3DM and selected the file.

Worked well ... but only with AutoCAD 2019, not with 2018 😉

Anyway... please find attached the DWG (just take care about the units, I'm not sure with that, you might need to scale it).

Hi,

probable  your partner has created the file with Rhino 6.

Ask him, if he can save it in Rhino5 format. It should work then for  you in AutoCAD2018.

Best regards, Hans Schmid
