Plotting Window in Model Space Locks Up AutoCAD

Hi All,

We don't do a lot of plotting of windows but occasionally we do. Now in AutoCAD 2017, when we try to plot from model space and select a "window" after we select the two points to define the window, AutoCAD locks up. If we zoom in first and plot "Display" or if we create/name a view and plot "View" or extents or anything, all is good but plotting a Window gets up locked up.

I can't find a solution in these hallowed halls or the Knowledge Base.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Sal

Just this one drawing, or just this one PC?

Does it also do this if you attempt to set up the plot by using the PAGESETUP command?

Does it also do this if you attempt to print by window using the -PLOT (the command line version) command?

Hi @sbrusco,

Is it possible to attach the file to a post or send to me personally at john.vellek@autodesk.com if it needs to be confidential?  I am curious to see the complexity of the geometry, its location relative to 0,0 and then also if your plot settings might be affecting this behavior.  Please include any plot style tables and a screen shot of the plot settings you are trying to utilize.  Have you tried sending this plot to a different printer/PDF driver?

Also, please check your Autodesk Desktop App to verify that your AutoCAD is fully up-to-date.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi,

This is where I ended up, at an Autodesk Knowledge page:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Windows-...

I have not heard back from our sister but I strongly suspect the combination of Windows 10 and AutoCAD 2015 is the culprit.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it, at least for a solution for now.
