Plot PDF to native folder path of document

I am using AutoCAD 2023, and when I plot any document to PDF, it saves to the previous folder path or the default folder path. I want it to save to the native folder path of the document when I plot any document to PDF.

Help me with this issue. Thanks

When you send the plot to pdf, it uses the pdf printer driver to save the file. So AutoCAD has no control over where the file is saved to. If you are using the DWG TO PDF. pc3 printer driver, it's just using standard Windows behavior and remembering the last folder used. If you plot using the PUBLISH command, you can specify the output folder.

Hi @Valentin_CAD I don't think that's what he wants. If he plots a dwg, it should save the pdf in the same folder as the dwg location. As the dwg location changes, the plot location should change too. However, the DWG TO PDF printer just uses the last location that was plotted to.

@alfaizmusa098 If you switch to Bluebeam, their driver allows you to set the default path to the source folder.

@alfaizmusa098 @Ed__Jobe @Valentin_CAD Once you change it you can never go back, Autodesk has been aware of this limitation for decades, you're options are to use 3rd party PDF drivers instead

Thanks for replies but none of this solve my issue. I understand that this is configuration of "DWG TO PDF" to save pdf to previous saved path. Is there any way I can change the configuration of this plotter to save pdf on its native path?

Thanks, but not working, still cad opens up the Previous saved path.

Hi,

>>"Thanks for replies but none of this solve my issue"

Right

>>"I understand that this is configuration of "DWG TO PDF" to save pdf to previous saved path."

Okay

>>"Is there any way I can change the configuration of this plotter to save pdf on its native path?"

? You wrote "I understand that ".. and as you read it before, there is no way to do it for the native PDF drivers

and the workaround is: Use another PDF driver for PLOT, or use PUBLISH command

DWG to PDF.pc3 and AutoCAD PDF (...).pc3 => No

other installed PDF printers on your PC => Depending on the settings of your win pdf driver

I already told you that you CAN"T change DWG TO PDF. You need to find another driver that allows you to change it's plot path. One that I use is Bluebeam pdf system printer driver. It comes with a purchase of Bluebeam Revu.

@alfaizmusa098 You do appear to be ignoring what everyone is saying

Autodesk is the only entity that can fix what you want and they have not done so in 20+years now. So you need to do something else, see the other advice from everyone asking you to use a 3rd party PDF driver.
