Hi,

for that laptop there exist multiple configurations, so this is reason 1 why an answer like "yes" or "no" is not possible.

Some thoughts to what I see:

  • I would never use an I3 processor for CAD
  • I would never work on a 14" display when doing CAD jobs

>> to run 2D autocad

Even if you mean AutoCAD LT (as you mention 2D) it depends on

  • how often and how long do you work with AutoCAD (once a month for 10 minutes or every day 10 hours)
  • how big are your drawings (simply A4 schematic with just a few lines and blocks or a full floor plan of a hospital).

Basic AutoCAD system requirements for an average user:
An i5 or i7 processor running at 3GHZ or higher native clock speed.
8GB Ram
A video card with 2GB Ram or more.
If a laptop, 15" screen minimum size: if you want to use it with an external monitor (so you can get a smaller laptop screen), you need to make sure the external monitor can be run at HD display settings (not the low end 1024x768 common on cheap laptops).
A harddrive large enough to hold all of your files: 500GB is good, 1TB is better.

2d can run almost everything 🙂 just give it some time to load the program 🙂

I would install a trial and see how it goes, if it does not perform as expected then you will know.  That is the beauty of a trial. I have ran AutoCAD on about anything including in WINE, it just takes a bit longer to come up.

When you say 2D AutoCAD are you referring to only doing 2D in AutoCAD model Space or are you looking at an LT version?
