Overkill Delete Order

What is the delete order for the overkill command?  If there are two objects that are identical except the layer, which object will be deleted if the layer property is set to be ignored?

I would like to be able to know which one will be deleted so I can control the outcome.  I have attributed blocks that I have imported from excel that I would like to be set apart either by color or layer.  The find and replace is too slow to use for object selection.

Post a screenshot of your OVERKILL pop-up and let's see what you are chosen for options.

The problem is not with what AutoCAD is deciding is a duplicate, but which one of the duplicates it deletes.

If you want total control you need to stop using OVERKILL.

I have 10000 blocks that I have extracted into excel and have filtered down to a few thousand by various properties that blocks represent and imported them into the same drawing, at the same locations rounded to the nearest .001.  The filtered blocks are on a different layer x.  I only want to keep the blocks on layer x.

Let me know if there is a better way to accomplish this.

Thanks

Have you tried "Quick Select" ?

Select what Layer

Select the name of the block

All will be selected. Then Delete.

Have you tried the SELECTSIMILAR command?

Sorry, two phone calls later and my unposted reply is out of date.  Disregard.
