Just loaded AutoCAD 2024

When I select any object (block or text) and go to move it, it just disappears before I let go of button to place it.

  • Make sure DRAGMODE is set to "Auto"
  • Check Hardware Acceleration, set it to the opposite of whatever it is now (enable it if off, disable it if on) and test.

Have you installed the2024.1.2 Update yet? ABOUT command will confirm what you have installed. If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards.

If that did not help... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD2024.

Also consider turning off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables.

If still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

Have you tried running AUDIT on the file?

Another possibility:  Do you have SNAP on at some very large value relative to the view area?
