Object Snap Settings Issue

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've been using my AutoCAD for a few days in a row now, and today when I opened my program and I started drawing, my shift+right click wasn't showing the Object References as it usually did, and now I need to draw some tangents and I can't find the way to do it without the shift+right click.

I've tried Settings on Options and User Preference but hasn't been working.

Help please, I'm dying here!!

Hi,

not sure to understand ... are you missing the context menu (as you wrote "shift+right click wasn't showing the Object References") or the object snap?

First could need to turn on PICKFIRST

For the second one ... does <CTRL><RightClick> work?

If you have not done customizations and you are missing the context menu you might reset the AutoCAD profile to default (>>>click<<<).

I'm sorry yes, I meant the Object References in the context menu, I'm missing the context menu when I'm running a command and I press ****+right click it used to show me the Object References, and now it doesn't.

I had PICKFIRST turned on already.

And CTRL+Right Click is not working either.

I actually have done customizations so It'll be kind of sad to set it to default... is there something else I can do?

Hi,

>> I meant the Object References

Am I correct that you mean you are missing this context-menu:

If I'm correct then please try:

  • start command _LINE so AutoCAD asks you for the first point
  • now, make sure the mouse is in the middle of the graphic part of AutoCAD
  • now press <SHIFT><RightClick>

...what do you get?

That's the Menu I'm missing, so I do shift+right click and nothing happens, as if I hadn't pressed any button.

Hi,

>> so I do shift+right click and nothing happens

Have you started command _LINE and are you asked for a point when you press <SHIFT><RightClick>?

Hi,

then please follow the reset settings suggestion (>>>details<<<), it's faster than searching now for the source of the issue. And as you are new to AutoCAD I guess you have not done customization's yet.
