New to AutoCad 2016 acadISO-Named Plot styles.dwt trying to plot a simple shape

Hello,

Being new to AutoCAD 2016 I'm having trouble plotting a simple rectangle with the following coordinates:

50,50 ENTER

150,50 ENTER

150,100 ENTER

50,100 ENTER

Using acadISO-Named Plot styles.dwt template

Have Dynamic Input set to off.

Steps:

1. At command line I have - Line specify first point: 50,50 (Enter)

2."                                "      Line specify next point or [Undo]: 150,50

That's as far as I can get it wont accept the rest of the coordinates, it keeps jumping outside of the command line box and will not let me type in the rest listed above - am I supposed to add the angle between the plots?

I'm using the book AutoCAD 2016 for beginners by CADFolks  and this example is on page 70

Try command RECTANG then enter 50,50 enter then 150,100 enter.  The only coordinates you need for a rectangle are lower left and upper right.

if you are just using the line command like the example says then you need to turn the dynamic mode off by setting DYNMODE to 0 or turning it off with the button shown in your picture

Ok that did the trick - had to set Dynmode to value of 0 - for off

Thank for your help
