Need hardware reccomendations

Hi! Question for the hardware nerds out here. My current workstation is getting a little bit slower than I'd like. I had the chance to compare it side by side with a newer workstation of a co-worker who left the company. And while the initial plan was to take over that new workstation I think I prefer to upgrade my current one instead. I'm using it for 5 years now an all my software and settings is set at 100% perfect for me. I'd lose to much time setting up this new one in the same way and I don't have this time at my job.

My biggest issue is when I have a bigger dwg drawing with multiple xrefs inside there's some lag when panning and zooming and occasionally it freezes a fraction of a second. What do you think I need to upgrade? Maybe the GPU? I didn't had these issues when trying out the co-workers workstation.

My workstation:

Windows 10 - 64bit - 24gb RAM

Intel Xeon CPU E3-1240 V2 @ 3.40GHz, 4 core

Nvidia Quadro 2000D

SSD drive

Co-workers workstation:

Windows 10 - 64bit - 32gb RAM

Intel Core i9-10900C CPU @ 3.7GHz, 10 core

Nvidia T600

SSD drive

Don't know what more info you'd need.

... and 5-year-old computers can sometime benefit from a refresh/overhaul too https://vintageits.com/how-to-fix-slow-computer/ and https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000179.htm

It' not 1990 anymore either, AutoCAD settings are never lost unless you choose to lose them with inaction and never backing them up, read and do this now https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-import-and-...

Maybe my explenation wasn't clean but the computer itself isn't slow at all. It just a tiny bit of graphical lag when panning in Autocad compared to the co-workers workstation.

And the settings I'm reffering to aren't those of Autocad but of all other software I work with. I barely change Autocad's standard settings for this reason. There's also software on my current pc I can't find the .exe file of anymore so I'd rather upgrade parts of the pc.

On top of that, I said my pc is 5yo but in reality It got upgrades already like RAM and the SSD drive. GPU and CPU has always remained.

Indeed, you probably just want to revise it all to read then instead of all of that distracting fluff 🙂

"...I have a bigger dwg drawing with multiple xrefs inside there's some lag when panning and zooming and occasionally it freezes a fraction of a second..."

Since both of your systems are not 100% identical, you'll never have 100% identical performances. How would you like to proceed from here? It appears you've already tried al the generic posted solutions to no avail if I am not mistaken.
