AutoCAD 2017
My Navigation Bar will intermittently and randomly freeze and embed itself into my drawings.
It will remain in the same position and will display as an image that I can zoom in and out of.
It does not plot or negatively affect my drawings... but is super annoying.
This typically only happens in paper space.
It does not remain after I save/close/reopen.
It sometimes goes away if I toggle between model space and paper space... sometimes not.
It sometimes goes away if I go to another tabbed .dwg file and use a command on the navigation bar there then return to the .dwg with the issue... sometimes not.
Toggling the "Navigation Bar" button in the ribbon on and off does not affect the ghost image.
See the attached screenshot below. The navbar to the right is active and functional... the left one is just an "image" that can't be selected or modified.
I did a forum search, but have not found any posts with a similar issue.
Does anybody have an idea what is causing this? TIA.

Hi,
first please install the latest update, starting command _ABOUT should show (for AutoCAD 2017) this content (valid for today):
If that does not work please start command _GRAPHICSCONFIG, turn off hardware acceleration and see if that makes anything better (if so I would recommend a graphic card driver update).

I'll have to wait for my CAD manager to do the update.
In the meantime... I turned off the Hardware Acceleration, closed AutoCAD, restarted AutoCAD, then turned Hardware Acceleration back on.
That seems to have worked so far.
I'll post an update if the issue happens again today.
Thanks!

So far, so good. Toggling the Hardware Acceleration off and on seems to have done the trick.
If the issue resurfaces, I'll track down my cad guy for an update.
Thanks!
