Mystery line in my Detail View.

Hello all,

A mystery line appears in the detail view that is not part of my drawing. I turned on all of my layers and that line does not appear on the drawing but does appear in the detail view. Why does this happen? How can I fix this?

Accepted solution

Hi,

Any changes when you close the drawing and AutoCAD and then open the drawing again??

Can you replicate the problem if you INSERT/explode the problem file into a clean trouble-free DWG file?
Or does the mystery line finally appear when you do that?

a couple of things things I can think of:

1) is your version of AutoCAD fully updated?

2) if you run command "audit" (no quotes) are there any errors found / fixed? If yes, does this fix the problem?

3) if you change the linetype of the viewport for the detail view to continuous, does this fix it? I have had odd behavior with non-rectangular viewports using non-continuous linetypes in the past.

4) if you delete the problem view, close AutoCAD, then re-open AutoCAD and the problem file, and create a new detail view, does this fix it?

Left home Friday and shutdown the computer. Came back Tuesday turned it on and opened AutoCAD, mystery line disappeared. This is odd, I shut the computer down last week and the line kept appearing and now its gone.
