Multiple Hyerlinks in MTEXT which PDF-output respects...

serge

It seems that a MTEXT object can only respect 1 Hyperlink,

I'm searching a way to insert multiple Hyperlinks in 1 MTEXT, which the PDF output (2016/2017) understands,
Not a strange issue if you want to write small procedures with Hyperlinks, which are refering to different URL's,
using AutoCAD.

I did try to insert several FIELDs->Hyperlink in the MTEXT, but without any succes.

Am I missing something?

Thank you for any ideas.

Hi @serge,

I haven't tried this before. Do you have a sample file to get me started? I am happy to look into this issue for you.

Hi @serge,

I started a new drawing and placed two hyperlink fields in Mtext. I created a PDF and both links work fine for me.

Can you tell me which version of AutoCAD you are using and which PDF driver?

Hello John,
Thank you for supporting.

I included a example of my MTEXT with included Hyperlinks, which I inserted as FIELD-objects
Perhaps this (FIELDs) method is the wrong way to go.

I also included the PDF-output, which is generated from a High Quality Print PDF driver (See: PAGESETUP from Model Space).
Seems only the URL of the first Hyperlink is respected, the two other are refering to the same URL.

Thank you.

Hi @serge,

You are making me a liar!  When I did this yesterday for you it seemed to work properly but today, whether in your drawing or mine, it is not working. I will log this issue as a defect.

In the mean time, I have found that creating the hyperlinks outside of Mtext do work properly when published to PDF so I suggest that be a workaround for you.

I apologize for any inconvenience and I will update this thread as I get more information.

Thank you for your contribution.

Good morning John,

I was hoping to recuperate the indivual integrated Hyperlinks by EXPLODE'ing the MTEXT in TEXT,
but this is not the case.

Thank you for possibly having a Workaround...
Best regards,
Serge.

Hi Serge,

There is no workaround at present. You can obviously explode the Mtext but you will most likely have to redo the hyperlinks.

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Can you share a file that shows me what you would like to hyperlink in the PDF?

Hi @Anonymous,

I don't typically work in AutoCAD Electrical so I need to see your file to determine the easiest way to make this work.  If you can't click on the source/destination text to add the hyperlink, perhaps you can add a Field to do this.  I am happy to look at your file if you can share it.

I realize this is an old post, but the problem to me is obvious.  When you insert a field into Mtext, it uses a field named "hyperlink".  Then when you print to PDF (DWG to PDF.pc3), for every field after that within the same Mtext, the field is duplicating the first entry, because it's the same field name.  It's able to keep them separate within the DWG, so they look fine before you print, but converting/printing to PDF causes the problem.  In a PDF, that's the way fields are intended to operate, allowing you to enter the value for a given field name once, and have it propagate through the document automatically, so you don't need re-enter each time.  So, the PDF converter is doing what it thinks is the right thing. There needs to be a way to have a unique field name for each hyperlink entry within an Mtext item.  We're going to try using sheet set manager fields, but I'm not sure yet if that will work.
