Creating a 3D model the model space view changes from 2D wireframe to hidden or shaded during 3D orbit

Any idea how I can turn it off?

Thanks

Hi,

Viewport Controls [-]

Select [-] for options to maximize the viewport, changing the viewport configuration, or controlling the display of navigation tools.7-2

View Controls [Top]

Select [Top] to choose between standard and custom views. Quick access to manipulate your view of an Isometric or 3D drawing.

7-3

Visual Style Controls [2D Wire Frame]

Select [2D Wireframe] to choose one of several visual styles. Most of the other visual styles are used for 3D visualization. Quick access from a 2D view to see your 3D drawings in different visual styles.

7-4

* Note when you see the Blue Box with a Check mark in it this represents the active or current features. When another option is needed, select that feature with the mouse and this will make that the current style option.

* Note also that the options in the brackets [ ] change to the new option that is selected.

Thanks but I think I didn't explain myself enough.

I have a 3D model displayed in 2D wireframe

I select and hold SHIFT and mouse wheel simultaneously to free rotate the view

As soon as I select and hold SHIFT and the mouse wheel simultaneously the view changes from 2D Wireframe to Wireframe (Hidden)

The 2d Wireframe Visual Style is as the name suggests 2D! 2D wireframe mode uses a 2D display list for creating line drawings on the screen.  Although pan and zoom are supported, 3D Orbit is NOT supported.  If you give an orbit command when 2D Wireframe is active the display is automatically kicked into another visual style. Typically this would be wireframe mode.  You can tell the difference between 2D wireframe mode and plain wireframe mode by the style of the ucs icon (lines for 2d wireframe, red, green, blue bars for wireframe).   It appears that your system defaults to a different 3D mode than wireframe.  One fix noted here is to reinstall the software.  I would suggest just setting your visual style to wireframe.
