3D Orbit Default Mode: Fly

Anonymous

I am having problems with one of my workstations 3D Orbit command.  It appears that the Default mode when using 3DOrbit is Fly and not Constrained Orbit.  I am able to change it back on a one time basis using the rt. click menu within the command, but I can not figure out how to change the default setting back to Constained.  I have tried resetting the user proflie.  I have imported a profile from a working work station.  I have tried Different templates.  Still no luck.

Any suggestions welcome.

Good morning radioflyer364,

This is really strange! What happens on this one workstation when you log on as a different user or Reset to default Settings?

When Changing users, resetting the profile, or importing a new profile, there is no change.  I still have the Default mode: Fly Issue.

Hi radioflyer364,

Very unusual! Since I am unable to duplicate this, can you tell me what is unique about this workstation? Different hardware, OS, Software, Plug-ins?

Nothing unique that I can think of.  It is running AutoCAD 2016.  Windows 7. I also have 20 other stations set up the exact same way and none have shown the issue.  We have run 2016 on this machine for roughly 10 months without having this problem.  To be honest, I am unable to recreate it on any other machine myself.  Like I said , it appears that it is defaulting the Nav Mode to FLY, but nothing else is affected.  I may just have IT reinstall the program and see if that clears up the issue.  That would at least confirm that the issue is originating in a software setting.

HI radioflyer364,

A reinstall is probably the next likely step to resolving the problem. Please post your results so we can continue to work towards eliminating the issue.

Thank you for your patience.

Struggling with re-install the program as being a solution.  I find re-installing the program to be a huge setback and its probably worse for others.  Seems funny that 3Dorbit can be switched to a different default mode and then cannot be switched back.... what gives AutoDesk?

Has anybody found a solution to this issue besides reinstalling?  All of a sudden today fly mode took over as default and I can't seem to save the change back to 3DOrbit.  Very frustrating
