model space not showing in viewport

My model space is not showing in the viewport. The grid is showing and a weird dotted half a circle line (which is not showing in the model space). The file contains a map, and is constructed out of many layers. The file was given to us so I did not draw it myself. All the layers in the viewport seem to be thawed. I hope somebody can help as the problem gets more urgent every day (due to upcoming deadline).

I am using Autocad 2018 student version and my OS is windows 10 64 bit.

I opened another Layer, please see attached. Just a blank space. So it is working for you but not for me and for the life of me I have no idea what I have done wrong or how to rectify this. I double clicked in the viewport, but nothing, then I typed in MSPACE and still nada!

I have also taken a video so you can see what I am doing. Is this me! 😡

It doesn't look like your posted file or my uploaded file (just the filename is the same, but not the content of the layout?)

Is this really the file you shared? How looks my second file on your program?

type MSPACE<enter> and AutoCAD is telling you the problem: There is no Viewport in your layout!

Just some lines.

use Command: MVIEW

to create new viewports
