Loft command error

Anonymous
Not applicable

I can't use Loft command in AutoCAD 2018. As You can see in the screen below, I want to build a 3D arch-bridge span so I have to connect all 2D blue (closed) polylines of each cross section. Each polyline presents a cross section of one steel plate of bridge span. I have 3 span cross sections and a path which is a 3D polyline but when I use a Loft command with path, AutoCAD gives me message: "Modelling operation error, Error Code Number is 98023"Loft.jpg

What I do wrong? Can anyone try this with my file below?

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I have been playing with this for a while and I think that the path is problematic. I tried to loft a simple circle from end to end along the path and it returned the same error message.

I was able to loft two of the cross sections along a simple arc and that worked fine. I was even able to SWEEP you end profile along the path.

The only way I got it to work with a loft was to rt-click on the 3dPoly and use a SPLINE Fit.

Can you try this and let me know your results?

Yes! It works with 3d spline as a path. Thank You very much!
