Linking Field to Attribute

Is there a way to link the area field from a ployline to an attribute?
I would like to extract the area from the field to the Area imput section of my attribute. Please see attached.
My Attribute definitions is as follows:
Existing Room / Area / Program
I have to extract this data from many different rooms in my project.
Also, I would like to copy a field I have already created and redefine it to a new Polyline, is this possible?

Yes and yes.

Double click your block - highlight the text for your AREA and rt-click to INSERT FIELD. Use the OBJECT option and select your existing field - choose CONTENTS. You may have to regen a couple times to get your block to update with changes. Alternatively you can use the OBJECT and select your PLINE (this keeps you from having to regen twice)

To use it with another polyline the RECOMMENDED approach would be to copy everything (including the polyline). Otherwise you can copy your field and block, then you will have to edit the field and use object to SELECT the new polyline. In this instance, having your block tied to the original field as opposed to the polyline would be easier as you only have to change one field.
