Lineweights are way off when plotting into raster

Hello! I am using Autocad 2021 and I'm trying to plot some raster images - either png or jpg. I can't seem to get the lines to display accurately, they don't seem to translate into raster at all. It seems that everything under 0.35 displays as an identical thin line - then starting with 0.40 the line is suddenly way too thick and I can not get a result inbetween those two (as shown in attachment). This does not seem to change if I change the resolution. The lines also seem very jagged and low quality, despite using rather high resolution (A4 at 300dpi). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I don't see a screenshot of your PLOT command pop-up. Nor your raster driver settings screenshot.

FWIW Raster is not a quality linework output format either, the pros plot to PDF, then convert to raster from there for better results.
