Linetype scaling problem

I"m using ver. 2012 and I have this strange problem with the linetype scale function.

Everytime I select an item and try to change the linetype scale in the properties window it locks up the program.

Task manger still shows that it's running proper but it's clearly locked and I have to kill the program in the task manager and reopen it.

Any ideas?

Dialog off screen perhaps?

Anything change on the computer?

Tried a System Retore to a day, week, month ago?

In addition to Charles' suggestions...

Can you change the LTscale of an entity using the ._Change command? (it's all done at the command line)

If so, that may point to a problem with the Properties palette.
