Line Type using a block to bend on a curve

Good day

 

Would it be possible to create a line type using blocks and be able to bend when using a curved line like in the video attached?

I tried creating a .lin file and make line but with no sucsess.

Could someone please help?

Only MS can do that, never seen anyone has this linetype with Autocad.

Your best option is to create the linetype - using the Express pulldown and selecting Tool > Make Linetype.

Sam Lucido provided an excellent resource for doing this in Autodesk University 2012 - check it out.

The closest thing I can think of to accomplish this in AutoCAD would be to do an Array Path of a block along a polyline

MS is great for transportation drawings, most state hwy dept. use them.

Your best option here would be to reference the Microstation DGN file (showing only elements with that linestyle) into AutoCAD.  As you noted already, "MS is miles ahead with linetypes".  Our only hope is that one of these giants (Autodesk or Bentley) merge into one company (buyout) or come to an agreement in regards to using each others program codes - then again, this has been a speculation for many years.
