Line Measurement

I am entering a line measurement but it is not setting line to entered measurement. Whatever measurement I enter it still allows me to extend line etc. I tutorial video I am using instructor is entering a line Measurement and it is drawing line to that dimension but it won’t on mine! I have tried changing units to Engineering etc but still no joy. Can anyone help please?

Can you give more details?

You start the LINE command.

Pick a starting point.

Drag the cursor out and then enter a number and then what?

Can you grab a screenshot of the command line during this action?

Ok. I have sent a picture of my screen. I have drawn these lines and entered a measurement of 5cm for each line. The 5cm instruction did not work and allowed me to carry on drawing until I clicked the mouse. My units are set to decimal and centimetres.

Still no picture.  If you are replying to an e-mailed notice on a cell phone, that would be the reason.  You need to be on a "real" computer and on the website in a browser.

@Kent1Cooper  - I've always heard that too, and I have seen mobile users say the same, but I just tested it and it worked just fine.

See: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/public-test-forum/this-is-only-a-test/m-p/9494149#M4797

I wonder why it works in some cases and not in others?

Sounds like you are looking for Parametric dimensioning.

I tried attaching a video but doesn't look like it worked.   I will try again in a bit.
