LAYOUT LAYER PROPERTIES

On my ACAD Setup(s) I have always wondered why managing layer properties for objects set on a layout in paperspace are handled by adjusting the "VP XXX" layer manager column(s) vs the non VP property columns which affect objects in model space and vp objects that have not had any override property values set.

The layer manager VP XXX columns adjust the properties of the paperspace and viewport override settings in my setups.

I would assume this is common for everyone.  Am I misunderstanding a naming convention or do I have a system variable set differently that is forcing this behavior?

I can find no documentation indicating this is the normal behavior.

I have experimented with Named Plot Style and CTB based plot style files and both behave the same way.

Thoughts / Suggestions / That's just the way it is?

Best Regards

-Tim C.

Hi,

the paperspace (content) themselve is displayed by an internal or system - ViewPort.

Since Adesk tried to hide this, it would be cool to see the columns "PS Freeze" "PS Color" ..

but it doesn't matter.

Go to a layout,

SELECT<enter>ALL<enter>

read the log [F2]

The point about the internal VP use cleared that up for me.  Thank You
