LAYISO command does not work

Hello Guys,

I am having a lot of troubles with my latest version of ACAD 2017. After purchasing the licensed version and reinstalling my ACAD I tried to type layisolate command in the command line, however it turns back a message "Unknown command". Does somebody had experienced such a problem? I have tried almost anything, please help.

Hi,

welcome @Anonymous.autodesk.com!

AutoCAD is correct, command LAYISOLATE does not exist 😉

Use command _LAYISO instead.

Hello Alfred,

Please find attached and evidence that _LAYISO does not work also.

Where seems to be the problem then?

Thank you.

Hi,

Sorry, nothing attached.

In case _LAYISO is not working too then I guess your AutoCAD profile is defect or the installation of AutoCAD worked not well.

Just to make sure: you get the same error message with all that icons?

Hi again,

The thing is that the program does not associate neither with typint
"LAYISO", nor "_LAYISO".

In the attachment I have taken a snapshot of the screen for evidence.

Hi,

My question was not asking for using "_" or not, my question was: do the other icons from my screenshot also not work?

In case they also don't work:

  • Your AutoCAD profile is defect or the installation of AutoCAD worked not well.
  • Run reset settings to default (>>>click<<<), if that does not work you'll have to repair-install your AutoCAD installation (having admin permission and having antivirus turned off).

Hi IMADABASH,

That doesn't work, but thank you. I have an additional plugin CADSRC. I
think that it is making any unknown for me changes that seem to be
problematic for the LAYISO command in ACAD 2017.

In case LAYISO has been undefined by something, try using the period/decimal prefix [with or without the underscore, too] to force it to use the native command definition:  .LAYISO or _.LAYISO.

If you can't get it to work, try my LayerIsolateOnOff.lsp routine, with its LIO and LUO commands, available here.  There are several improvements over AutoCAD's LAYISO and LAYUNISO [see the comments on that web page and at the top of the file].  There's also another version that does it by Freezing and Thawing the un-selected Layers, rather than turning Off and On.

I think there is a certain bug due to a plug in program that has been attached in the ACAD. However, the problem disappear as soon as I use the Freeze Layer command. As soon as I type it, but don't actually use ит, the command Layiso is recognized and ready to use. The only thing I can't get to work now, even when I restart ACAD, is the edited aliases for LAYISO in the .pgp file.

Thanks anyway!

Turn off all add-ons and extras. It should work, something is interfering.

This morning I was working to update the speed of my AutoCAD and shut off these variables. It does work.

  • Changed XLOADCTL to 0
  • Changed DEMANDLOAD to 0

However, Coincidentally, it shut off my ability to LAYISO.

After turning them back to 2 & 3 respectively, I regained my ability to LAYISO.

I have no idea what they actually do to prevent this from operating normally, but figured this might have been an a way to resolve the original posters issue.

For the OP, the command was not recognized.
