Hello AutoCAD users,
My Layer List Combo Box shows black color instead of white when I use ACI 7 (AutoCAD color index), see image below. Is this an AutoCAD bug? Seems like this happened when I used OPTIONS to change from default AutoCAD 2017 background screen from white to a dull black.
If I use ACI 255 this shows white in both the layer manager and the layer list combo box, but creates a new problem when plotting, I get white lines instead of black, see Plotting white objects on a dark background without using plot style tables
Thanks for your help,
Jeff Jensen
Hi @jefferyjensen,
What specific color are you using for your background color? I would like to try and duplicate this action. Be aware that a White (7) index color will not show up on a white background. This is why it toggles to black on a white background. I suspect that your background color is not quite black enough to toggle this action.
Another thought would be to check your graphics card driver to see if you have the most current. What is your OS and graphics card?

Hello John,
Yes, I believe you are correct.
I'm using OPTIONS uniform background color 33,40,48
which I think was the default background color in AutoCAD 2015. I think AutoCAD 2016 used the dull white background color (215, 215, 215).
Thanks for the help,
Jeff Jensen
