Issue with specifying length and moving elsewhere on drawing

Another engineer in the office is having an issue in which when he copies a line and specifies a distance, it moves to a completely different part of the drawing. Its also do it when moving an object or even creating a line.

It seems as if by specifying a length, AutoCAD is recognising it as a coordinate instead?

Maybe the running osanps are grabbing something. Try turning them off or specifying the osnap NONE

Hi @jason.bowman,

Does this happen on your computer too with the exact same command sequence? If not, then it is time to compare system variables. I think the DYNPICOORDS as suggested by @Anonymous is a good starting point. If you want a list of your variables there is a tool in Express Tools called SYSVDLG that should help.

Can you list the exact steps (data entry) that makes this happen? Or perhaps capture a screen or make a video that shows the issue?

Hi @jason.bowman

As comrades commented it will be better if you upload a video or screencast of the problem, you can try shutting down SNAPMODE or F9.

You can also check your UCS coordinate system, maybe it's rotated or 3D,

We found out it was because number lock was on... That doesn't make any difference on my computer but does on my colleagues for some reason.
