Invert Selection in 2024

Can someone help me?

I have selected everything visible and now want to invert my selection so that I can turn off those layers in the property panel.

I thought if I clicked right after making my selection I would see the option to invert the selection in the menu, but I don't.

I'm also unable to find the option on the ribbon under home, view etc.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

So is your purpose to select in the layers property manager all layers not used by any objects in the current layout / model tab?

if this is what you want, it works fine here with a right-click inside the LAYER palette in AutoCAD2024.1

Not sure that's ever been a thing if I understood you correctly.

Thank you for answering, I should have explained that I am making my selection in model space.

Is there a way to get that selection to be highlighted in the properties panel as you are showing there? That way I could then invert the selection.

If that is not possible could you suggest a way to know from the properties panel what layers contain something that is visible in model space?

What's your end goal to select all Layers with no objects in the current space on them?

Found this thread which sort of gets you there.

Just need to first enter this at the command prompt to refresh the Layer Properties Manager:

(vl-cmdf"_.LayerClose" "_.Showlayerusage" 1)(initdia)(vl-cmdf "_.Layer")

Now on the Layer Properties Manager look at the Status column (first one on the left)

Any Layer that has NO objects at all anywhere including Model & Layouts will show up which greyed out Trapezoids.

Layers with objects somewhere will show up with blue Trapezoids.

The difference maybe a bit hard to see but if you look close enough...

Then you can click on the Status heading to sort by this column

Unfortunately, this won't tell you if you only want to know what Layers don't have any objects in your current Model or Layout
