Inserting viewports

I am trying to enter my Drawing from model space (below) into a scaled viewport from the layout ribbon - layout viewports - insert view tab.

When I do enter it at 1/4", all the text appears to be at the 1:1 scale from the model (too large)

I found that I can adjust the text size in the properties. I was wondering if there is a way to scale the text when I select the viewport from the model space.

How is this usually handled.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Try this:

  1. Keep the viewport scale at 1/4" = 1'-0"
  2. Switch from layout tab to modelspace.
  3. Make your DRAWING UNITS 1/4"=1'-0". You can do this while in modelspace using the scale dropdown in the Task Bar. (see image below)
