Dear all

I created a cad drawing using Auto cad LT 2012. That includes some images ,but when i change the location of images from my drive they also disappear from drawing & instead  of image image reference location is showing like{{C:\Users\obaid.pandt\Downloads}}. i happens with some images  not with all.

but when i put images through snipping tool without saving image and directly paste through [Ctrl+V] it did not disappear.

Kindly tell the reason why it disappear.

i am also attaching some screenshots.

Because you added just a reference  to an image file.

The image is not part of your dwg, just a reference object.

If you change the location of the image file, acad can not find, read and display the image information.

When you copy&paste, you create an OLE object, there are two kindsof OLE (embedded and linked).

And the best is: Dont use pixel data, redraw it with vector objects in acad.

Save them as block.

To get your referenced images back: open the "External references" palette (command XREF)

Look for your image name in the list - it probably says "not found" under 'status column. On the lower half of the palette, there is an entry "saved path" - click on it and click on the three dots, a window should open where you can browse to the new file location.

The forum won't let me upload a screenshot for some reason but hopefully this explanation will help.
