Insert other drawing

I am an Inventor user but used AutoCad a lot for about 10years ago.

Now I started to used it again I noticed my old habits don’t work. 😅

For instants previously I could just press “I” to insert other drawing files into the one I work with.

Now that option is gone and there is only blocks to insert.

Older AutoCad I could also “drag & drop” a file into another…..Now it’s just opens the files I drop.

Am I missing some new command or some settings?🤔

The insert command changed to a blocks palette. You can still insert the old way with the command CLASSICINSERT.

I don't think there is a button but not sure. You can create a keystroke shortcut using Aliasedit command

Another way is the command DDINSERT.  It is the same as CLASSICINSERT.

Another way is just -I [with the hyphen prefix].  If you then want to navigate to a folder/file location, type in a tilde ~ to get a file-navigation dialog box.
