Image Type Objects Move Copy Issue

Well, still have the move/copy issue for wipeouts, images, and as it turns out PDF's too.  Haven't checked embedded excel ole's yet.

The issue that all you get is the rubber band when copying or moving these objects.  The new object is not being drawn while dragging.  Not until it gets dropped does it draw.

We've messed with all the variables we can think of, reinstalled video drivers, reset one (mine) AutoCAD, to no avail.

I can get a draw during copy by going for array with quantity of 2!  Not sure what to do about move.

We work with frames for these objects turned off.  Well, at least for images and wipeouts.

Messed around with redefined copy and move commands to turn on frame settings during those commands.  Seems a bit much for something that shouldn't be happening.

This only affects our subscription based web-connected versions we are running.  The older, standalone, purchased ones we have are unaffected.

the .mov I took with my phone.  the FrameThis.dwg (at least on our subscription installs) is acting as described.

I personally think the people in the programming department tried to make some improvement with an unintended negative side effect.

If anyone with subscription AutoCAD wants to try it and see if this errant behavior goes beyond our own office, please do and let me know what it does.

Thanks,

Mark

This is the tuner log from my machine.  Not sure just how local this is since it is affecting 2 other machines (mine is 2022, there's a 2020, and a 2018 version here)  The 2 2015 machines are standalone installs and are not affected.

Have you tried the Low-Tech approach ?

Start a brand New Drawing from ''Start from Scratch'', no company template or anything... Bring in your image and create new wipeouts... See what happens.

Same result.  How strange.  I might end up doing a re-install of Acad

Not sure if this is the winning ticket unless it sticks...

Turned Smooth Line Display OFF  -  It was ON.

After setting Smooth Lines to OFF then restarting Acad, it seems to be behaving as expected now.  When moving or copying (checked wipeouts and images) the boundaries are now showing.

I'm running 2022 with Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000 here.

our 2018 machine with Nvidia Quadro K2000D with the same issue, same result.

Our 2020 machine with Intel(R) UHD Graphics P630, same scenario.

Our purchased, standalone Autocads were unaffected. Leads me to believe this is an unintended consequence of some subscription update.

We'll just see if it sticks. If it does I'll come back and post it as such.

Thanks for the help!

I think you are seeing patterns where none exist. Sorry.

Instead of posting an empty DWG file (your first post), why not ETRANSMIT your DWG to capture all needed content, let someone over here go through it all for you following your posts information.

TIA

the unaffected machines are identical to the 2018 machine.  Line Smoothing is on with no adverse affects on those.  The issue arose on all and only the subscription installs.  The issue arose about the same time across them.

I really don't care how the errant behavior began.  Sorry if I offended anyone.  I was interested in solving the problem.

Hopefully, others who might run into the same issue can try turning off line smoothing to see if it works.

Thanks again for taking an interest in this issue!
