How to keep layer state using nested xref?

First i have a file 01

I created file 02 and use 01 as xref and edited 01 layers
I created file 03 and use 01 as xref and edited 01 layers different to 01 layer in file 02

I created file 04 and I wish use file 02 and 03 as xref, but the problem that the layer state is like file 01

Then, how to keep layer state states from file 02 and 03 in file 04?

Hi,

Xref-layers overrides are valid in the file you attached this xref file.

The changes are not earned further if you xrefed the main drawing itself as xref.

The only way 

attach f01 to f02 and f03, rename the referencename unique

(for example, change them from f01 to f0102 and f0103)

and then, you have to do the same layeredits as in f02 and f03 again (in f04)

But how to keep layer states from file 02 and 03 in file 04? Because in file 04 appears 01 without layer state

Hi,

this is what I wrote.

1. It is not possible

2. You have to create the xref layer changes in file4 again by your own.

In this link, the step "do it again" is done by layerstates.

BUT

3. In your special situation, if you want to do it by layerstate export/import,

you have to do it twice.

a) You have to rename the referencename in file2 or file3, or as I wrote and as I would do it, in  both.

    You want to handle one and the same layer from file1, two times, independing from the other (f0102|layerX and f0103|layerX instead of just one layer f01|layerX)

b) Export the layerstate from file2 and also from file3,

     Import and restore them in file4, with the setting written in your link.

Independing -  later edits in file2 and file3, you have to to the edits in file4 again by your own.
