How to get coping to loft on radius that are on different planes

I am trying to get a wall cap to loft on both a radius on the plan view and elevation.

I have attempted to use guides but it has failed. any help getting this done would be greatly appreciated.

Create a horizontal lofted curved solid and a vertical lofted curved solid. Use the Intersect command on the solids to get the resulting solid incorporating both curves.

I suspect what you really need as a path for a Sweep or Extrude or Loft operation, on the part that curves in both directions, is a HELIX with only part of one turn.

That was done with a Rectangle EXTRUDEd along a Helical quarter-turn path.

I created a spline with 3 fit points from the red arc then dragged the fit points vertically with ortho lock to match the desired elevation. Loft with the spline as guide finished the shape.

If the cap is changing on a radius in both plan and elevation, SWEEP along a clean 3D path is often more reliable than LOFT, especially if your section stays constant. If you want to keep using LOFT, make sure every profile is closed, planar, and aligned in the same direction, and that each guide curve intersects every section exactly at a common point or the loft will usually fail.
