How to ALIGN an object without moving it to the destination Object?

Hi there,

So I'm not really sure if this is possible, but I reckon there's got to be a way somehow,..

(Also. this is just a question out of curiosity, not immediate need 👍)

In the example I've attached, how would I make the green dashed polyline have the same rotation as the white/grey polyline? I've tried ALIGN but that always requires one of the objects to be moved onto the other.

Maybe there's something obvious I'm missing, but if anyone has any tips or ideas that would be awesome!

Try the SNAPANG command. Use it to align your cursor with the green line, then rotate the white line using the Reference command to align it to your cursor

Use the rotate command with Reference:

You can also use Parallel option from Parametric menu as shown below...

[cadffm]

or rotate, reference, and using parallel osnap

or rotate, reference, and using otrack with osnap Extension

or rotate, reference, and using the polartrack and relative tracking

There is a long list how to do,

the the best main command is rotate.
