Can't change offset distances within the OFFSET command

I used to be able to run the OFFSET command, and enter different distances to offset the same line all within the same command. Now I have to finish and restart the command every time I want to change the offset distance, which triples drafting time.

Say I have a line I want to offset 12", then 6". To run the command, I would type "O". Space. Select a line to offset. Type "12". Enter. Line offsets 12". Select the same line to offset again. Type "6". Enter. Line offsets 12" again and not 6"... Before, I could have just offset that line different distance within the same command for eternity.

Did some setting get changed somehow?

Make sure you have the dynamic input turned on (F12 key).  If it is make sure in the DSETTINGS on the Dynamic Input tab you have the box checked for Enable Dimension input where possible.

Hi

there is no seperate button.

Use a right click on, DynMode Button in Statusbar

or simply, as with all other commands too: TYPE IN, press <Enter>

I believe the accepted solution [Message 2] works only if you are in Offset with the distance set at "Through."

You may also be interested in OffsetRunningOptions.lsp, >here<.  It lets you change the Offset distance within the same running of the command, though in a slightly different way, but with a specific setting, not only within the Through option.  See the comments at the link and in the file.
