How to add a field that acts as a layout description?

Hello,

I am trying to add a field into my drawing layout that will tell me the description of that specific layout. I already use "ctab" for the layout page numbers, but I would like to have a unique description for each one as well. In the attached image, I would like to have the layout description field in the bottom left where it says "MENS C107", and then I would like for it to automatically update the plan view tag and the elevation view tag so it minimizes the amount of times I would need to rewrite "MENS C107". I don't want to create a custom field because (as far as I know) I would need to create a field for every page, and there could be up to 150 pages in a project. Basically I want just one single field, like "ctab", but for layout descriptions unique to each page. Is there such a thing as that? I appreciate any help you guys can give me!

Thank you,

James

1. Open your drawing layout in AutoCAD.

2. Select the text object or annotation where you want to display the layout description. In your case, it would be the "MENS C107" text in the bottom left.

3. Right-click on the selected text object and choose "Insert Field" from the context menu. This will open the Field dialog box.

4. In the Field dialog box, select the "Objects" category on the left side.

5. From the available field names, choose the appropriate field that represents the layout description. The specific field name may vary depending on your version of AutoCAD and the available options. Look for fields related to layouts, page properties, or sheet set properties.

6. Configure any additional options for the field, such as formatting or text display.

7. Click "OK" to insert the field into the selected text object. The field will display the layout description.

8. Repeat these steps for other layout pages, ensuring that you choose the correct field and insert it into the appropriate text object.
