How not to insert inside DWG block from external file

Hello,

I am trying to use external blocks (own small DWG files), but so far when I insert them via command INSERT, then insert into the main DWG in hard way...

So what I wish to do is just create a reference into the external file, therefore when this external file changes, the block inside the main DWG will change accordingly...

Is this possible?

Hi,

Not sure what you mean by "create a reference into the external file".

For the case you want to insert an external file into the current file then you can use command _XREF.

XREF (external reference) is the command that you are looking for.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
