How do I draw a dashed polyline like the one in the image? I can't figure out how to change the scaling (V->H).

I have to draw a polyline like the one in the image (there's another line behind) and I can't really figure out how I should do it since it has a vertical dash pattern instead of a horizontal one (it's my first time using Auto CAD and I'm not yet used to the settings).
here's what it should look like:

and here's my drawing:

Thanks!

What's your current ltscale?

Since the dash needs to be further apart, try increasing the ltscale

Perhaps share your dwg?

My current ltscale is 1. Increasing the ltscale wouldn't be the best choice since there are 2 other dotted lines, or maybe there is a way to modify it just for the polyline? Thank you for the help!
I've also attached the dwg file.

A couple of issues. You've set the current Linetype to HIDDEN instead of BYLAYER

And since this is a metric drawing you should be loading the Linetypes from file acadiso.lin & not acad.lin

These are the steps I took to modify your drawing:

Command: CELTYPE

BYLAYER

Select the PLINE in question and change the Linetype from Continuous to Bylayer

Command: LTYPE

Select Load button

Click File button

From AutoCAD's support folder select acadiso.lin

Select Hidden2 and click OK to dismiss the window

On Layer Properties Manager select layer Dot2 and change the Linetype from HIDDENX2 to HIDDEN2

Now you'll see the Linetype develop on the PLINE

Thank you for your help, and sorry for replying late. It works just fine now (I've tried that on different projects as well)! 🙂
