houdini pictures

im having an issue with pictures. ive attached pictures into a drawing but everytime i save and exit once the drawing is reopened the pictures are gone. what am i missing here?

How did your "attach the pictures" exactly? Name the command, walk us through the process.
Where are the "pictures" located in relationship to the DWG file and folder?

are they presnet in the EXTERNALREFRENCE dialog?

insert>>> attach>>> select ref file. they're in the same file folder

yes and the ones that were previously loaded that it messed up have the yellow caution symbol by them and say unrefed

when i click on the words where the picture was it says the file is unsupported

what is the file type and what is the file size?

"Unreffed" usually means they've been erased from the drawing without being detached. 

I suppose they are showing up in the drawing once you've attached them.

You open the drawing again and they are gone or just boxes with text?

How about doing an eTransmit and attaching the zip file so we can take a look?

I suspect it might be your path.

Is this the unsupported image file dialog?

If so try changing your path in your external refrence dialog box 

EXTERNALREFRENCE

I would make the path relative first, and if you get no success i would try absolute. 

after that point it to the file again. Its lower down in the external reference dialog box.

im in 13 so it looks a tad different. if i right click on the ref it gives me  path > remove pathor make relative. should i unattach all the refs and start from the beginning. none of them are recognised anyway

Show us your expanded XREF palette in a high-res screenshot.

I cannot say for certain. Ive had issues with network paths and long path names though im not sure those were CAD issues. I have heard the jpgs are tricky some times as well. 

You can try reattaching them if you would like but first i would just try to see if toggling between absolute and relative paths makes a difference. To make it an absolute path again just copy the location of the file from explorer.

It looks like there are several duplicates in there. I don't think that's part of the problem but i would remove them if you could.

sowhen i would attach the ref the attach image box would open. in it was a path option>>relative/full/no. i selected full and have had no problems since. thanks everyone for the help today. it is greatly appreciated
